Classes and Multi-Day Trips

ORCA plans a variety of multi-day trips throughout the calendar year. Trips can be as short as a local cabin overnight, or as long as a seven day road trip. Other trips include backpacking and kayak wilderness trips, trips to neighboring towns or local campgrounds, recreational trips throughout Alaska and Canada, and vacations to the lower 48. Costs are kept to a minimum and most are adapted so that all abilities can participate.

Recent trips have included:

  • The “Golden Circle” Road Trip (Drive from Skagway to Whitehorse to Haines)
  • The Southeast Alaska State Fair in Haines
  • Kayaking out to Berners Bay Cabin
  • The Haines Bald Eagle Festival
  • Backpacking in the Chugach State Park
  • A Hawaiian Vacation
  • A weekend in Glacier Bay National Park

Classes

ORCA provides a variety of classes for individuals to expand their independent living and recreation skills. Past classes have included:

  • Ski and Snowboard Lessons
  • Climbing 
  • Biking
  • Kayaking
  • Hiking
